Liebster Award

♫ TEEN TOP - 장난아냐 (Rocking)

Hello, hello! You've probably seen this Liebster Award post going around the blogs lately (or maybe not...), and I'm happy to be nominated by Kim from Test and Share.(✿◠‿◠)

The Liebster Blog Award originated in Germany (Liebster; adj. favorite, preferred above others; liked or loved above others) and is given to bloggers by bloggers.

The Rules
- You must link back the person who nominated you.
- You must answer the 11 Liebster questions given to you by the nominee before you.
- You must pick 11 bloggers to be nominated for the award.
- You must come up with 11 questions for your nominees to answer.
- You must go to their blogs and notify your nominees.

Kim asked
1. Who inspired you to start blogging?
I started blogging back in high school as a sort of diary to keep note of my personal activities and experiences, but then I slowly started to get interested in makeup and fashion and started reading blogs from that genre. All these amazing blogs inspired me to start my own beauty-focused blog.

2. What did you gain most after starting your blog?
I got to know lots of fellow bloggers in the local community! :D And it's fun to attend exclusive events specially for bloggers, hehe~ :)

3. Any favorite blogger (and the reason)?
I don't have a favourite blogger per se, but I do enjoy reading beauty blogs with reviews, as well as fashion blogs. If I have to name a few, At First Wink and Airi's Blog would be my picks!

4. Do you feel blogging is hard?

Sometimes, yes. That's usually when I'm not getting the blogging mojo, or just too tired to blog. Most of the time though, I really enjoy blogging, and it's really satisfying to finish and publish a blog post.

5. Which eye skincare brand do you think is effective?
I'd like to ask that question myself! I currently don't have an eye cream (or any eye-skincare product) in my routine so I think I'll need to take a look around.

6. What do you think of my blog "Test & Share", e.g.: belongs to which blog style, what do you like?
I think your blog is more of a lifestyle blog, because you blog about lots of other stuff besides beauty. :) I like it because you're always honest with your reviews, and I get to read about places and activities that aren't in the Klang Valley.

7. Any suggestion to slim down?
Exercise, and a balanced diet. Which reminds me that I really need to start doing both ASAP, haha!

8. Favorite cosmetic brand and product?
Wow, this is harder than I though. I'd have to say Etude House, and my favourite items from them would be their nail polish! Oh, and BB cream too!

9. Favorite food
Too many! Local Malaysian food is best (although I dislike durian and satay), and of course, pasta. And bacon. HAHAHA

10. Favorite music

This is easy, haha! K-Pop, for now, although I'll probably change my mind in maybe a year or two LOL

11. Which colour do you love?
Pink (for things in general); black and white (for clothing); blue, green and purple. :D

I'm really bad at doing stuff like nominating people (╯_╰) so I can't think of 11 blogs, but here are the ones I'd like to nominate:
- Leimum & Angie at Beautiful Things
- Sarvin at ClassyPyt
- Marie at DosMariasSays
- YC at HoneyLemonGirl
- Sarah at lashes and strokes
- Nicole at LittleMissSmexy
-  Rane at The Beauty Junkie
- Camy at ♥ Vault of Camy
LauraLeia's Questions
1. Who or what inspired you to start your blog?
2. What's your favourite 2013 memory?
3. What's your craziest hair colour, or what colour would you like for your hair? ;)
4. Currently listening to...
5. You're stranded on a deserted island. Name 3 outfits OR beauty products you'd bring. HAHAHA
6. What's your dream travel destination?
7. Favourite nail colour?
8. Favourite blog(s)?
9. Tell me ONE resolution for 2014.
10. Food you DON'T like?
11. Coffee or tea?

SEHUN SAYS DO IT
Now, go forth and fly, my beauties! *cough* Too cheesy? Okay then.
Go forth, and may the force be with you, my fellow bloggers! (≧∇≦)

Review: Sleek MakeUp Blush By 3 in "Sweet Cheeks" (Limited Edition)

♫ 五月天 - 步步
Sleek MakeUp Blush By 3 palette
A couple of weeks ago, Luxola had yet another 30% discount flash sale. I was browsing through the site when I saw that they had stocked the Sleek Blush By 3 Candy Collection "Sweet Cheeks" limited edition palette, so I straightaway grabbed it (and a Zoeva eyeliner brush) because I'd already fallen head over heels for the Lace palette, and I knew I just *had* to get this pink-based trio as well. ヾ(☆▽☆)

Front (outer box)
Back (outer box) with description and ingredients
I really like the outer cardboard packaging of this limited edition Blush By 3 palette. Unlike the normal Blush By 3 palettes, this one is white with colourful cupcakes and candies on the front and back. It looks so pretty and cheerful! (✿◠‿◠)

Sleek Blush By 3 "Sweet Cheeks"
As for the blush palette itself, it is the same matte black with glossy Sleek logo, except for the bottom right corner, where the name is printed in silver.

Blush By 3 Candy Collection "Sweet Cheeks" LE palette
Individual blush shade names
The names of the individual blush shades are printed on the back of the palette. From left - right, they are: Candy Floss, Dolly Mix, and Cupcake.

Blush By 3 in "Sweet Cheeks" (LE)
This particular Blush By 3 palette in particular is special because it contains a cream blusher, a matte powder blusher and shimmer powder blusher. Sleek has not released any individual cream blushers yet, therefore this is the first.

Sleek blushers are well-known for being extremely pigmented, and this palette is no exception. All 3 blush shades are very vibrant and pigmented in one swipe, as you can see from the photos above.

Candy Floss (cream) - A blue-based pink cream blusher that dries to powder finish.
Dolly Mix (matte) - A lilac pink shade.
Cupcake (shimmer) - A warm shimmery pink that leans red.

Candy Floss cream blush as lip colour
I've read several reviews that mentioned Candy Floss (cream blusher) could be used as a lip colour too, so I tried it out. Surprisingly, the effect was very pretty, and it felt comfortable on the lips without being drying, similar to the NYX soft matte lip creams.

This is Candy Floss cream blended out on the cheeks. It's a LOT more vibrant in real life (I had to wash it all off after taking this pic LOL) and you'll need to act fast to blend it out because it dries pretty quickly.

Candy Floss + Dolly Mix
As always, you'll need to use a light hand with these to avoid getting clown cheeks (I'm still working on it ⌒_⌒;), but the result is definitely worth it! My favourite shade is definitely Cupcake, but I like all 3 and have been reaching for it more than the Lace palette this week. Candy Floss is very pretty but gets a bit messy when applied using the fingers.

Not trying to get you to spend more money here, but if you're looking for a good blush (or three), I highly recommend this! (⌒▽⌒)

Merry Christmas! (ft. Christmas NOTD)

♫ EXO - Christmas Day

I can't believe it's already Christmas, and barely a week before the new year is here! (。✪‿✪。) This is just a short post to wish all my lovely readers a very Merry Christmas!

Faith makes all things possible,
Hope makes all things work,
Love makes all things beautiful,
May you have all the three for this Christmas!
(◕‿◕✿)

My pre-Christmas NOTD featuring a snowy blue cloud layer manicure, and complemented by a Christmas tree complete with shining golden star! :)

Here's my actual Christmas Day nails, haha! Was feeling kinda lazy last night so I decided to just go with alternate glitterbomb nails using OPI Liquid Sand "Kiss Me At Midnight" and China Glaze "United". I really love the gritty sandy texture of these polishes.

Merry Christmas, everybody!

November & December Makeup Favourites

♫ Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas

Since it's almost the end of December, I've decided to do a short 'favourites' post to show you some of the makeup items I've been using pretty frequently over the past few months.(✿◠‿◠)

Items numbered clockwise from top left:

① Etude House Drawing Show Creamy Liner (review)
② NYX Black Label lipstick (reviews)
③ Peripera My Color Lips lipstick (reviews)
④ Tony Moly Luminous Pure Aura CC Cream (review)
⑤ NARS Blush in 'Orgasm'
⑥ Etude House Precious Mineral Any Cushion (review)

These are the few items I usually grab whenever I need a quick fix before heading out the door. Most days I just apply a layer of the Tony Moly CC cream, dab a few spots of concealer to hide dark circles, and finish with a swipe of blush. For better coverage, I apply the Etude Any Cushion after applying CC cream.

I like to use the Etude House gel liner to line my upper and lower waterline (for that rocker look, lol), although most of the time I just use liquid pen liner on the upper lash line. The lipstick colour varies depending on my mood/outfit, so sometimes I blend two colours together for a gradient look.(◕‿◕✿)

Here's an adorable little puppy with an equally adorable Kai (from EXO) petting said puppy to brighten your day.
Merry Christmas, and Happy New Year! (≧∇≦)

TaoBao Haul (December 2013)

♫ Donghae & Eunhyuk - 아직도 난 (Still You)

I don't think I've done a proper TaoBao haul post before, despite buying most of my bags and shoes from there. Well, this time around I'm really pleased with the items I got, so here's a short haul post! (≧∇≦)

EXO Wolf 88 t-shirt
First is this EXO-inspired WOLF88 t-shirt. My bias is Sehun (origin story here) so I got the one with his name on the front. There are 12 members so there's a dozen for you to choose from, lol. I'm particularly surprised with this purchase because 1. it actually fit me (online clothing sizing is a tricky business), and 2. the material is really comfy and just nice for our weather. There's a bit of a weird smell to it, but nothing a good wash and dry can't get rid of.
Maybe I'll get a Baekhyun one :3
I'm seriously considering buying a couple more of this because it's really comfy and fits perfectly AND I get to indulge my EXO addiction at the same time. (¬‿¬) The problem is just deciding which member I should buy... WTFLOL Okay, that actually sounded kinda wrong when I read it again. (⊙‿⊙✿)

EXO rings
Now for the bling bling. I just realized that the accessories I bought are rings, lol. (⌒_⌒;) They're all from the same shop/seller to save on shipping, and I'm glad I did because the quality of these rings, especially the top left bling one (Sehun's symbol, btw), is surprisingly good.
This is what I call great packaging
I've never seen such meticulous packaging from a Taobao seller. Double layer zip lock bags, individually packed accessories, wrapped in a thick layer of bubble wrap and packed in a small box, not to mention good quality accessories? Colour me impressed; this one's going on my bookmarks list.

It's so pretty I just-
Time for the star of the haul (no more EXO items, I promise) - this little brown beauty here. If you've seen/read this post before, then you'll know what it is. :P
Yup, a bag. A book-like bag. Told ya I love quirky stuff. Gonna review it soon because, well, it's awesome. And this item definitely warrants a sequel to this post, hahaha! ψ(`∇´)ψ

Best haul from Taobao so far :D
Come, share with me what are your recent online purchases that had you surprised or horrified?

Wonder Food Adventure at 1 Utama Food Street

Last month, I was super excited to be part of a food adventure for bloggers, called Wonder Food 新食力, which was held at 1 Utama Shopping Centre. Why is it called a Wonder Food adventure? Well, simply because you can now visit 1 Utama to satisfy your cravings for authentic local street food without going all the way to Penang, Melaka or the rest of Malaysia! (ノ>▽<。)ノ

1 Utama Wonder Food adventure
1 Utama is the 4th largest shopping mall in the world, and with it being less than 15mins away from my house, it's no wonder the mall has practically been my second home since I could remember. Also probably the reason why I'm a shopaholic, with malls sprouting up everywhere in the last few years, lol.

Before starting our food journey, we were given a special 'passport', which was our 'license to eat'. ψ(`∇´)ψ Now, without further ado, let me bring you around 1 Utama's Food Street on a gastronomic Wonder Food adventure to explore and savour the varieties of eateries available there! (*⌒∇⌒*)

Passport to eat!
Proceed with caution: may cause extreme drooling and hunger pangs!

Ko Hyang Korean Country Delights

Ko Hyang's menu consists of a variety of mouthwatering Korean food. This was my first stop, and I was feeling pretty hungry, so I ordered the Bi Bim Bap, with is the popular Korean mixed rice that you often see in dramas and stuff.
Bi Bim Bap
The food tasted pretty good, and the service was quite fast and efficient. I'd love to go back and try their soup-based dishes sometime. :D

Oyster King

I won't lie - this little shop is the one I frequent most often with my family when we want to have a bite to eat.
Fried oysters
Fresh oysters
The fried oyster with egg, commonly known as 'or jien' 蚝煎, is a signature favourite, along with their fried rice. They also have other dishes such as deep fried oysters and fresh oysters. The service here is good, and the food is always tasty and fresh.

SS2 Goreng Pisang

If you fancy some delicious, sinfully good fried banana fritters (and other local fried snacks), this is the place. The original SS2 goreng pisang, or friend banana fritters, is located under a tree at a corner in SS2, Petaling Jaya, and it's so popular that they decided to open one in the shopping mall. No more going round and round looking for parking space and then waiting under the hot sun for your fried snacks! ;)
Fried banana fritters, or pisang goreng
They actually tasted even better than I remembered - sweet, crunchy and not too oily. ( ̄ー ̄)

Ninja Joe (Non-halal)

Ninja Joe pork burgers
Ninja Joe serves pork burgers in a variety of flavours, from original to black pepper, teriyaki, and a whole lot more. They also constantly add new items and expand their menu, so it's fun to check out what's new every once in a while.
On weekends and public holidays, the store can get a bit crowded due to limited seats, but the food is served fast (it's fast food, after all) and there's even a huge LCD TV to distract you while you wait for your number and collect your food.

I Love Yoo!

For those who are tired after a long day of shopping, or just want a simple and affordable bite to eat, I Love Yoo! is the perfect place.
Their fried you tiao is the main attraction, as well as their soya bean, tau fu fa and porridge (not pictured). They don't fry a lot at once, so most of the time you'll get fresh, piping hot, crispy you tiao to accompany your porridge and soya bean. The manager also recommended I try their tau fu fa, which turned out to be surprisingly nice.

Seaweed Club

I'd always passed by Seaweed Club while walking around 1 Utama, but this was my first time trying their food. The menu is simple, with a few different flavours of seaweed rolls (similar to popiah) and a few types of tea. I chose the Original flavour seaweed roll, and rose tea. I love rose tea. :D
The food, albeit simple, was presented well, and the staff were very friendly and efficient too. This is definitely one for the health conscious, or looking for an alternative to tea with biscuits. I'm definitely going back for the rose tea, lol!

Molten LAVA Churros

I remember eating this when LAVA first opened at 1 Utama, and feeling surprised that Spanish churros were like you tiao, except sweet. They make it fresh when you order, so although you have to wait a little, you'll always get some piping hot churros.

Food Box (Non-halal)

Pandan (green) and gula melaka (brown) kuih ko se
Food Box was opened not too long ago, and I was quite curious about what kind of food they served. Their extensive menu has lots of affordable rice and noodle choices for lunch. I was feeling rather full by this point, so I just tried their kuih ko se. The brown (gula melaka) one was nice, and at RM2.80 for 2 pieces, it's definitely a tea-time snack that won't break the bank. I'm looking forward to trying out their rice choices for my next visit.

Vivo American Pizza and Panini

At Vivo, I joined a few other bloggers and we ordered these 3 dishes to share. The portions were really generous, and the staff were very friendly and helpful.
The star of the table was definitely the chocolate lava cake with vanilla ice-cream, haha!

It was definitely a food adventure to remember! Special thanks to 1 Utama and The Butterfly Project Malaysia for this wonderful opportunity. (✿♥‿♥)
