AFA 2013 Singapore Trip (Food Edition)

♫ 五月天 精选

Well, besides going for Anime Festival Asia (AFA) 2013 earlier in November, I also had some pretty memorable gastronomic adventures (and did a little shopping, of course) in the couple of days I was there. I won't be elaborating a lot, so I'll just let the photos speak for themselves.

Disclaimer: All the food pictured here was consumed over 3 days, not 1 day. (⌒_⌒;)

First order of business, upon arrival, was of course lunch at Mos Burger. Tried out their new Crispy Karaage Chicken rice burger. It wasn't crispy, and the chicken was slightly too salty, but I'll let it go this time because I was hungry and there isn't a Mos Burger within a 300km radius of KL.

Of course, I couldn't miss my favourite Gindaco takoyaki at ION Orchard. I usually order the original, but since a lot of people were ordering the Teri Tama, I decided to order that. Best food decision I've ever made btw. My love for these takoyaki just leveled up, if that's even possible. (。♥‿♥。)

One thing I love about Orchard Road is that it's always so bright and bustling, with lots of interesting things to see. These colourful stairs in front of Wisma Atria was really pretty.

Lush store @ Wisma Atria
I was determined to get some Lush stuff for myself and mum, but after browsing around the store for about 30mins, I came out empty-handed. Partly because the scents were too much for Rhea, and also because the scents/products didn't really appeal to me.

Alpaca cafe!
As usual, headed to Kinokuniya but merely browsed. Saw these super kawaii alpaca plushies, and also a fluffy sheep plushie that I was so tempted to buy home ala "It's so fluffeh I'm gonna dieeee!"

Menya Musashi white soup ramen
*Sluuuurp*
Ramen? Yes please.
When in Singapore, always go for pork. Shared this amazingly delicious ramen from Menya Musashi Kodou with Rhea, and well... you can see that we literally polished off everything in the bowl. ヘ( ̄ー ̄ヘ)

Aarrr, Merry Christmas!
Christmas decorations were already starting to go up around the malls, and this pirate-themed Christmas decor was at CityLink Mall, which we had to pass by on the way to AFA.

Paris Baguette cafe
Look at the variety of bread and pastries!
Paris Baguette's signature Royal Pudding
Yvonne brought us to Paris Baguette at Wisma Atria for some tea-time chit-chat after AFA. I swear, it's one of the best bakeries I've ever been to. Just look at the variety of bread and pastries!(Plus they have bread with bacon. Yes, a hundred times yes!)
Ordered these and some drinks for tea-time
Original royal pudding
The royal pudding is absolutely divine. It tastes so rich and creamy and literally melts in your mouth! (´∀`)♥
Yes, that's a bacon roll on the fork.
Thanks, vonnie! You're a genius at taking flattering photographs wtf (*≧▽≦)b

We missed the light show >_<
Louis Vuitton Island Maison and Art Science Museum
Marina Bay Sands
Decided to play tourist with Rhea and went to Marina Bay to see the night scenery. Singapore in daytime and at night is so different, yet equally beautiful.

Now to some shopping. I'll say this first though: I am surprised - nay, shocked - that I did not buy any cosmetics at all this trip, although I was sorely tempted several times. NONE AT ALL. I'm not sure whether to laugh or cry, to be honest. (;¬д¬)

ELLE Singapore with Coach notebook GWP
This ELLE anniversary issue came with a Coach notebook. I thought they'd be sold out but luckily there was still a lot around the bookstores and newsstands.

Essential Purely Smooth shampoo and conditioner
Essential shampoo and conditioner. I was using the orange bottle version, but this pale yellow version is new so I decided to try this instead. So far so good. :)

Smiggle and Forever 21 accessories
These accessories from Forever 21 were on clearance, so I grabbed the collar necklaces and lace headband. Also bought a wallet for mum (not pictured) and an pink "L" keychain for myself from Smiggle. I left out some purchases because they were either really boring or gifts, so yeah. Basically these are the stuff I bought for myself during the trip.

I'll end this post with my last meal a.k.a. breakfast from the trip. I woke up early and went to Paris Baguette again to have a sweet bacon roll as breakfast before checking out at noon, and also to buy some bread back for my family to try. The garlic baguette is seriously the most mouthwatering thing to smell on a beautiful Sunday morning.

Bacon, eggs and bread. My life is complete.

I haven't seen this pale yellow version around, mayhaps it is pretty new? I do love Essential's orange range but it's too rich for me!

And those alpacas are too cute and fluffy *squeals*
