GEO Big Grang Grang Brown Lens from

♫ Yes933 online radio

Once you've worn circle lenses, you (almost) never go back to normal contact lenses, purely because circle lenses make your eyes look super nice and pretty. I love wearing violet or green lenses, but sometimes you just need to take a break from the vibrant colours and go with a nice natural brown, thus my favourite is definitely the GEO Grang Grang series. ❤

Thanks to, I got the chance to try out the GEO Big Grang Grang Brown lenses. I'd previously worn the regular 14.2mm GEO Grang Grang Choco lens and really loved it because they're so comfy and look super sweet and natural. (◕‿◕✿) Now, enough of the backstory; let's go on to the review! :)

Isn't that cute?! The package with my lenses arrived within 2 days after being shipped, and came in this kawaii bag with cute lens case and small note, while the contact lens vials were wrapped securely with bubble wrap.

The contact lenses sold at are genuine products from Korea and GEO-certified. You can check the authenticity of the lenses from the scratch off sticker on the vial.

The GEO Big Grang Grang lens (15mm) does not have a very obvious outer ring, and the brown pattern is also very scattered and random. I like it because when worn on the eyes, it blends very well with my natural eye colour (dark brown) while giving an iris-enlargement effect.

Although the website indicates that these lenses can be worn for a year, I highly recommend that you do not wear them (or any reusable contact lens) for more than 3 months to avoid bacteria buildup and infection.

Below are picture comparisons before wearing the lenses, seen in natural light, and with camera flash.

Bare; natural light; flash
These lenses are super comfortable, and I can wear them up to 6 hours without any discomfort, which is great for 15mm enlargement lenses. Any longer than that and you'll need some eye drops, especially if you're in an air-conditioned place. I find that the smaller 14.2mm Grang Grang lenses are even more comfortable and can last a good 8 hours without needing eye drops. Either way, I am absolutely in love with this GEO Grang Grang series! (✿ ♥‿♥)

You can check out their website for a huge variety of circle lenses, or their Facebook page for latest updates. (≧∇≦) Psst... They have FREE SHIPPING for orders over $50!

P/S: They are the same lenses I used for my Topshop lipstick review. (¬‿¬)

Review & Giveaway: Kosé Sekkisei Lotion Mask

[Sponsored Post]

Have you heard about KOSÉ? If you’ve been anywhere near skincare/beauty blogs and Facebook, I’m pretty sure you have. ;)

For those who might be scratching your heads, here’s a short intro: KOSÉ was established in Japan in 1946, when cosmetics were considered luxuries with goods still in short supply. At a time when even products with inferior quality will sell, Mr. Kozaburo Kobayashi, the company’s founder, instilled the standard that continues to this day of insisting on high-quality products for their customers. This number of customers grew as a result. The history of KOSÉ has been one of diligent research into product quality, and placing emphasis on good counseling and customer service.

Shh… I’ll let you in on a little secret – the first proper skincare brand that I used (cleanser, lotion/toner, emulsion, and white mask) was this very same Kosé Sekkisei series, and it really helped to improve my skin condition drastically. The only difference is that now they’ve launched this super nifty and convenient Kosé Sekkisei Lotion Mask, which is one of the best skin whitening products around! :D

I’ve stopped using the full Kosé Sekkisei series for my daily skincare routine, but I am still a loyal fan of their White Mask. It was a real pleasure (not to mention a good trip down memory lane) to try out this Sekkisei Lotion Mask. Basically it’s their Sekkisei Lotion (toner) in mask form.

I received the packet mask to test out, and it’s just like any regular sheet mask application. For those with the big bottle of KOSE SEKKISEI Lotion, simply purchase a packet of shrink masks (they look like pills), drop them into a cap of the lotion, wait until it fully absorbs the lotion, unfold and apply! Remove the mask, unfold it, place on face for 10mins (no longer than that), and remove and gently pat the lotion into skin to reveal a clear, bright, rejuvenated complexion!

Just sit back and relax for 10 minutes. Take a nap. ;)
The Kosé Sekkisei Lotion provides “…deep translucency with the power of oriental plant extracts, even for dull skin. It is a lotion that creates fine-textured, hydrated ’snow-white’ skin.” Having used this daily for several days, I can say that it really does make my skin seem fairer, brighter and firmer. It does have a bit of an alcohol scent when first used, so those with sensitive noses may not be used to it. After a couple of times using the mask, the scent doesn’t bother me so much now, and the results are worth the 10-minute wait, lol.

How the mask looks like after opened up
There are 3 main ingredients used in the formulation of this Kosé Sekkisei Lotion:
Coix Seed Extract - has effects such as increased metabolism, whitening, moisturization, and prevention of skin roughness.
Angelica Extract - has disinfectant, whitening, and moisturizing effects.
Melothria - The root of the Melothria plant is called White Lotus. The extract taken from this root is said to suppress melanin production and has whitening effects on the skin.

The Sekkisei Lotion helps to balance out the skin’s moisture levels, preventing dullness, roughness, and pimples caused by dryness, as well as redness caused by sunburn from sunlight, or by the sun’s reflection in snowy areas. It blends instantly into the skin, just like melting snow, creating fine-textured, plump skin. With a refreshing, light sensation, the lotion leaves the surface of the skin feeling silky smooth, yet hydrated. Your skin regains its natural pure translucency down to your pores.

Review: Topshop Lipstick in "Straight Ace"

♫ Zedd - Clarity (cover by Sam Tsui & Kurt Hugo Schneider)

A few weeks back, I was out having some retail therapy with Sarah and picked up this lippie on a whim at Topshop because it was on sale the purple shade looked interesting.
How interesting? Read on to find out!(^∀^)

To be honest, this is my first ever Topshop lipstick, because somehow Topshop's lipsticks never really called out to me. Sure, the regular packaging is pretty, cute and quirky, but the shades weren't all that special enough to warrant me buying one at full price.

Topshop lipstick in "Straight Ace"
On to today's star, this lipstick is from one of Topshop's mini collections called The Make Up Edit, and the one I have here is "Straight Ace", a bright purple shade. ∑(O_O;) I personally refer to it as Barney purple, lol.
The lipstick comes in a transparent plastic box with polka dot patterns and the ingredients list printed on the side, while the lipstick itself is housed in a silver tube with a transparent cover. The lipstick shade is also displayed at the base of the tube.

A little search on Google revealed that Straight Ace is also available in the normal Topshop lipstick packaging, but the packaging for those in The Make Up Edit collection is mainly silver and transparent. I like it because it's easier to identify the lipstick shade.

Swatch of Straight Ace on arm
The deep purple colour may look scary in the tube, but the swatches show up lighter and look much more wearable. In the macro shot above, you can see some slight shimmer, but you can't see it at all when applied. It is definitely a purple lip colour and may seem daunting to wear, but as I tell myself these days "If it looks scary in the tube, just go ombre on the lips". (⌒_⌒;) The lipstick also has a sweet, sort of cupcake-like scent.
Lip swatches - 1 layer & 3 layers
I find that it looks best with 1 layer blended out on the lips to give a soft purplish pink shade. It gets fully opaque at 2-3 layers, which really shows its true purple tone (and makes me look tanner than I am). Definitely not for the faint of heart!

Single layer of Straight Ace blended out on lips
3 layers for full opacity.
Overall, it's a pretty decent lipstick in terms of colour payoff and lasting ability. The formula goes on very smoothly, and aside from the scent which some people may dislike, it feels comfortable, does not dry out the lips and lasts up to 3-4 hours with minimal eating and drinking. If you apply it with a heavy hand, it'll leave a slight stain. Come to think of it, I think this would go really well with my Illamasqua lip duo! (⌒▽⌒)☆

Would you pick up this colour to match the 2014 Pantone Color of the Year? I'd love to hear your thoughts! :)

I dreamed of being a pilot when I was little.

A frequent flyer when I was a kid, I was always in awe and a little in love with the handsome pilots in uniform that I saw walking past me in the airport. They seemed so confident, striding through the terminal with an air bordering on arrogance, while the stewardesses with their perfect smiles and modelesque figures seemed like celebrities walking on a runway.

I wanted to be one of them. Not one of the pretty stewardesses, but one of them - the flying elite, the pilots.

Years have passed and so do dreams. Looking at all the news regarding the missing flight MH370, my heart goes out to all those on board the flight and their family members.

There are many who are starting to blame the pilots of MH370 for being incompetent and useless, but put yourselves in their shoes and you might have a different perspective. I imagine this situation is every flight crew's worst nightmare, something that will haunt them for the rest of their lives if they manage to survive while others didn't. For some passengers, it might have been their first flight; for others, it might have been their n-th time on a plane, same old same old. We never expect things like this to happen, (almost) literally a bolt out of the blue.

It's been 3 days since the plan went missing. Now it's hoping against hope that MH370 and all onboard will be found soon.

Review: Etude House Look At My Eyes Eyeshadow in RD301

♫ 陶晶莹 & 方大同 - 是爱

I'm normally not an eyeshadow person, but I've been making an exception for this particular eyeshadow lately. It's Etude House's Look At My Eyes eyeshadow range, in the shade RD301.

The eyeshadow comes in a clear round compact case, which allows you to see the eyeshadow shade inside. Tiny hearts are embossed on the eyeshadow, which is really cute. Simple, convenient, and best of all, it doesn't feel too cheap and closes with a sturdy snap. I like it.

Look At My Eyes RD301 is a reddish coral shade with subtle golden shimmer. It's buttery smooth, very pigmented, and there's little to no fallout when picking up or applying the eyeshadow. Granted, it's probably one of the exceptions in the range, as most of the other shades in the range that I tested in-store weren't so pigmented or smooth.

Isn't it just pretty? To me, it's the perfect mix of coral, red and pink with subtle golden shimmer that catches just the right amount of attention without being a downright glitterbomb.

A simple eye makeup look using only this eyeshadow and black eyeliner. Pat it onto the eyelid, blend upwards and outwards, and then finish with eyeliner. I didn't even use primer underneath the eyeshadow, and it lasted a good 6 hours with minimal fading. Impressed? You bet I am.

I bought this for RM 9.90 during Etude House Malaysia's February promotion. The usual price for the Look At My Eyes range is RM 19.90 - RM 39.90, so it was a pretty good deal. I'm actually contemplating buying another one as backup, and I never buy backup eyeshadows.

✓ Pros: Buttery smooth, great colour payoff, no fallout, long lasting even without primer, convenient packaging, affordable, huge variety of shades.
✗ Cons: Not all shades from the range are as amazing as this particular shade. (⌒_⌒;)

February 2014 Shopping Haul

♫ Imagine Dragons - Demons

While listening to Imagine Dragon's "Demons", I'm more than a little convinced that shopping, retail therapy and impulse purchases are legit demons. Well, since 'I can't escape this now', I might as well embrace it while I can and share with you some of my purchases in February.

Red cropped cardigan from Cotton On (RM 30) and H&M skater skirt (RM 15). That skirt is seriously bargain-hunting at its best - good quality and fits perfectly. I really need to wear skirts more often. (⌒_⌒;)

Lipstick from TopShop (RM 29) and eyeshadow from Etude House (RM 9.90). I love sales. The purple lipstick looks kinda scary but I tried it on the back of my hand at the store and it's actually quite pretty. Also, my new motto is "If it looks scary in the tube, just go ombre on the lips". (≧∇≦) The Etude House eyeshadow was a pleasant surprise. It's a shimmery orangey red with great colour payoff. Will be reviewing both of these later on.

Forever21 accessories
I might have gone a little crazy with accessories from Forever 21.

This necklace (RM 15) and earrings (RM 15) are the only items I bought at full price. I just couldn't resist the heart, bow, and mint combo.

Ring (RM 5), flower headband (RM 10) and black diamante wrap bracelet (RM10; pictured above). Again, yay for discounted items! The ring goes perfectly with the mint necklace/earring set, and I've had my eye on that flower headband for a while now. *coughhipstercough* The wrap bracelet is totally my usual style though.

Not strictly part of the haul since I won it from Mina magazine. ^^;; Still, I've always wanted to try Ma Cherie products, and now I can! (≧∇≦)

I'll leave you with this fakehipster photo using - what else? - the flower headband and multiple filters. And I may or may not be showing off my nail art HAHAHAHAHA
