Review: Nakeup Face WaterKing Cover Cushion #23 Natural Beige

♫ BTS - I Need You

If you've been following my Facebook page, Winter Blossoms, you probably would've seen me post a few sneak peeks of my items from Nakeup Face.

What's Nakeup Face? No, it's not a typo. This brand of Korean cosmetics is new to Malaysia, but back in Korea it has a huge following comparable to another brand with similar sleek packaging *cough3CEcough* and been featured in various magazines and beauty talk shows. Apparently girl group SISTAR's Soyou is also a fan, among a host of other Korean celebrities. Nakeup Face products have also consistently ranked first and second place in Naver Korea's cosmetic sales!

In this post, I'll be reviewing the Nakeup Face WaterKing Cover Cushion in shade #23 Natural Beige. It's a BB cushion that promises to be hydrating while creating flawless radiant skin. It contains mineral water to ensure it adheres lightly to skin, triple-covering method for perfect coverage, and an aqua coating formula for 4D glamour and glowing skin to provide a smooth and radiant finish. The formula also has the triple function of whitening, wrinkle improvement, and sun protection (SPF35/PA++).

Now, let's start with the packaging. The BB cushion compact comes packaged in a sleek matte black box with the brand's holographic logo in front, the shade name on the top flap, and product information (all in Hangul) on the back and both sides. The compact itself is a highly reflective, mirror-finish plastic case which is very lightweight. Basic information like the product and shade name can be found on the bottom of the compact.

I love the mirror-finish of the casing but it's a fingerprint-magnet like no other. Makes it easier to identify the owner in case of emergency? (≧∇≦) Inside, you'll find a black cushion puff and a huge mirror under the lid. To be honest, the mirror is pretty redundant since the exterior is already reflective enough. (⌒_⌒;) If you're planning to bring this around for touch-ups or vacation, you'll never need to carry a separate mirror again.

The BB cushion has a sticker seal to ensure it doesn't dry up until you open it, and the rest looks pretty standard. The BB liquid has a texture similar to some watery foundations, and is easily applied using the puff. However, it does dry up rather quickly and due to its high coverage, you'll have to work fast to prevent uneven streaks or patches.

Speaking of coverage, the product's claim of a "triple-covering method for perfect coverage" is no joke. The first time I used it, I honestly exclaimed "OMG" out loud because it managed to literally cover up any redness, blemishes and uneven skin tone. Before and after photos below.

True to its name, this WaterKing Cover Cushion really does give excellent coverage. However, it does dry rather quickly, and if you don't prep (moisturize) properly beforehand, you'll find that it can emphasize dry spots. I've been going through a bout of really dry skin for the past couple of months, so it does show in close-up photos. Try not to overdo it around the eye and nose area as well, as these are spots that often suffer the 'cakey' effect if you're not careful.

Another thing I'd like to point out is the smell; unlike other BB cushions that I've used, the Nakeup Face WaterKing Cover Cushion's slightly plasticky smell (not sure if it's the formula or the packaging) may put off some people, but it fades off quickly after application.

Oooh idk about this, that (intended) mispelling is killing me.

And woman, what is this redness, blemishes and uneven skin tone nonsense? I can't see any of those in your before picture!

Blair: Hahaha I know what you mean about being bothered by the name. XD Oh, those blemishes, redness, uneven skin tone and dry patches are there alright T___T

Jenny: Haha IKR the packaging is really WOW! It's not bad if you're looking for high coverage, but do make sure your skin is properly moisturised beforehand. ^^
