Review: SHILLS Rose Essential Pampering Travel Kit

♫ TVXQ! The 7th Album 'TENSE'

If you're a rose-lover like me, or knows somebody who is one, then you definitely gotta take a look at this! ;)
SHILLS Rose Essential Pampering Travel Kit
It's the Rose Essential Pampering Travel Kit, which is one of the newly launched products by SHILLS in January 2014. Enriched with Damascus rose extract, the Rose Pampering Travel Kit allows you to enjoy a soothing, calming, relaxing spa-like experience in your own home and even while traveling.

The natural Damascus rose formula restores youthful beauty while keeping the skin moisturized and hydrated, to ensure a velvety complexion and healthy glow to skin. Rose essential oil has a distinctive quality and aromatic floral scent, which is pleasantly calm and romantic. (Modified from original description below)

Priced at RM 59.00, the travel set includes a pink bath ball (loofah), hydrating shower gel (50ml), moisturizing shampoo (50ml), and nourishing body lotion (50ml), all packaged in a rosey pink box. It's perfect as a gift for loved ones (or even yourself!) and is great to bring along for travel. (◠‿◠)
Loofah, shower gel, shampoo, and body lotion
Rose Essential Pampering Travel Kit
The shower gel, shampoo and body lotion are packaged in adorable little pink plastic bottles with a rose-shaped screw cap. With 50ml of product in each bottle, they are travel-friendly yet contain enough for you to pamper yourself throughout the duration of a short vacation. Who doesn't want to feel and smell good while on holiday, right? :D
Pretty in pink
All three products have the same distinctive rose scent, which I personally love. The shower gel lathers up easily using the loofah, so there's no need to use a lot each time. The shampoo leaves a faint rose scent, but I would have preferred if they included a conditioner in the travel set as well. The lotion is not greasy and absorbs fairly quickly into the skin.

Overall, I think this is great little set of travel-use body products. It comes in a cute box that's suitable as gifts, and the size is just nice to store inside your travel toiletries bag. I love the cute rose-themed packaging, and of course the lovely rose fragrance of all three products in the Rose Pampering Travel Kit. (◡‿◡✿)

The Rose Essential Pampering Travel Kit is available at all SHILLS outlets in Malaysia.

Cerro Qreen Fibre Wool Makeup Brush Set (7 pcs) - Pink

♫ B1A4 - Lonely (없구나)
Cerro Qreen Fibre Wool Makeup Brush Set - Pink
I'll admit, I'm not a big user of makeup brushes. I prefer using my fingers to apply my base makeup, and the only brush I use frequently is a blush brush (although I've been reaching for my eyeliner brush a bit more often these days). Anyway, the point is, I've never had a proper makeup brush set before, so when I received this 7-piece Cerro Qreen Fibre Wool Makeup Brush Set from Natta Cosme, I was pretty excited to try it out.
Embossed Cerro Qreen logo
The brushes are housed inside a wraparound-style pouch made from PU leather, with the Cerro Qreen logo embossed at the bottom right side.

Practical design
The flap at the top is folded down to protect the brushes during storage. This is great when you're traveling and don't have the time to properly clean the brushes, and prevents them from staining the other brushes when the pouch is folded.
Pink-white ombre bristles
The 7-piece brush set comes in a lovely sweet pink pouch, with pink handles and pink-white ombre bristles. Anything cute, pink and functional is definitely a yes in my book! (✿ ♥‿♥)

I only have one gripe with this product, and that is the pouch, which doesn't seem very well-made. As you can see in the photos above, the stitching is shoddy and uneven. (╯_╰)

However, the brushes themselves are great, very soft yet firm without shedding any hairs during application and washing.

Not sure which brush is used for what makeup product? Here's a handy little pictorial guide for you! :)
Brush guide
This is a pretty basic makeup brush set, so you have the powder brush, eyeshadow brush, eyeliner brush and eyebrow brush. However, don't let that stop you from using the brushes for other functions besides the ones stated above. Makeup is all about creativity, after all! (≧∇≦)

The powder brush is big and fluffy, which makes it suitable for application of loose powder, blush and bronzer.

The eyeshadow brushes can be used for powder and cream eyeshadows, as they are made from synthetic bristles. The big eyeshadow brush can also be used to blend concealer under the eyes or on problem spots.

The eyeliner brush is used mainly to apply cream or gel eyeliner. However, you can also use it as a lip brush to get that perfectly shaped pout! ;)

I seldom use eyebrow brushes, but this one can be used for applying eyebrow powder and as an angled eyeliner brush. As for the eyelash brush/wand, you can use it to groom your eyebrows as well as eyelashes.

I hope you'll find these tips handy! Remember, it's all about creativity, so don't limit yourself to using these brushes for only one function! As long as it works for you, just go with the flow. (✿◠‿◠)

Review: CLIO Gelpresso Waterproof Pencil Gel Liner in #14 Bloody Angel

♫ TVXQ! - Something

I finally got my hands on this CLIO Gelpresso eyeliner! I'd been lemming after it ever since I saw the promotional pictures from CLIO about their Bloody series featuring the beautiful Sandara Park.

Picture from Makeup Stash
There was an ongoing sale at Watson's recently, and since I had to use up my member points before they expired, I quickly grabbed the one I had my eye on - #14 Bloody Angel.

Description in English and Korean
Here's a look at the ingredients list.

This gel liner is packaged like a pencil liner, and is retractable. I like this design because it's more convenient and doesn't waste any product. The red part at the bottom not only helps you to identify the colour, but is also the part where you twist to extend or retract the eyeliner.
Gel liner in pencil form
Retractable - no wastage!
It comes with a tip sharpener at the bottom, which is really handy. :)

#14 Bloody Angel is a rose pink liner with silver shimmer. The formula was perfect - smooth and creamy with great colour payoff. It dries fairly quickly, so you'll have to work quickly if you want to blend it out to use as an eyeshadow colour.
Swatch of #14 Bloody Angel
I tested its smudgeproof and waterproof properties, and I have to say I'm impressed. The liner stays put once dry, doesn't smudge nor fade even after 8 hours, yet easily removed at the end of the day using makeup remover.

I tried a pink+red eyeshadow look with this eyeliner, and I really like the result! It's a nice change from the usual dark liners. (>y<)

I'm glad I finally bit the bullet and bought this eyeliner. I've never been a fan of pencil gel liners because the ones I tried before were too dry/hard, so this one was a real joy to use. I'm contemplating purchasing a couple more, haha! Too bad they're so expensive, but with the current discount at Watsons, maybe I'll splurge a bit for my birthday month. :)

CLIO Gelpresso Waterproof Pencil Gel Liner (0.5g) retails at RM45.90 and is available at all Watsons pharmacies.

✓ Pros: Long lasting, pigmented, smudge-proof, waterproof, vivid colour, large variety of colours, smooth and creamy texture, retractable pencil design, travel-friendly.
✗ Cons: Expensive for amount of product.

A Book or A Bag? (Part II)

♫ INFINITE - 내꺼하자 Be Mine (Remix Ver.)

I have a love for both books and bags, so what better than something quirky and cute that combines the best of both worlds? ;)

If you've read or come across my previous post, you'll probably know that sometimes, things are not what they seem.
This would look perfect in my (future) personal library.
Okay, if you haven't figured it out already - it's a bag. A bag that looks like a book. (⌒▽⌒)☆ This was purchased during my recent Taobao haul, and I can honestly say that it's one of the best purchases I've made from Taobao so far.

Literally a vintage book bag
With the straps hidden inside, it looks remarkably like a vintage book (albeit a very thick one). Open the flap, and you'll see that it has two magnetic closures (slightly misaligned on one side), which isn't exactly the most secure for a shoulder bag, but makes for easy accessibility of items inside. The design is printed on the front and 'spine' of the bag, but none on the back.

Double magnetic closure
Plain back view
In terms of size, it's not particularly big. It's a bit smaller than your average magazine or A4-size paper, so it can't really fit a lot of items inside. That said, it can still contain a wallet, phone, keys, tissue, compact powder, lip gloss and probably a compact powder, which is more than enough for me on normal days, haha!
Size comparison with ViVi magazine
The inside is lined with PG Mall's own yellow monogrammed fabric, which was a nice touch. It has a zippered compartment as well as two inner pockets at the sides. I like light-coloured inner linings for bags, as it's easier to locate items compared to rummaging around in a black bag. Spares you that little panic attack when you can't find your phone/keys/wallet, lol.

Interior of the bag
Fits basic items with room to spare!
Here's a comparison pic between the first book-bag and this one. The new one definitely looks much more realistic. (¬‿¬) It is quite sturdy, and won't lose its shape. However, the surface is slightly spongy and made from PU material, so you'll have to be careful not to scratch it.
Old vs new
Supposed to use it for Chinese New Year but I just couldn't resist using it on some of my recent shopping days. (〜 ̄▽ ̄)〜

Many of you have asked me for the link to the bag. I'll be nice and give you the link to it - here. You can thank me by leaving a comment below. You're welcome. :P

A book or a bag?
Overall, I'm super pleased with this purchase because the quality is good, and the design is really unique. I have a weakness for quirky items like this, plus it's handy for everyday use, so I'll definitely get a lot of use out of this bag. (。✪‿✪。)
