L'Oreal Paris White Perfect Laser Whitening Treatment Series

Fan BingBing
Have you ever considered clinical whitening treatment to make yourself look fairer, but held back because of the risks involved? What if I told you that you achieve perfect fairness at home, that is as efficient as Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) treatments, but at a fraction of the cost and without the risks involved?

Well, your search might well be over! Introducing to you, the new White Perfect Laser whitening treatment series by L'Oréal Paris, which is comparable to IPL but without the risks and costly treatment price tags!

The newest additions to the L'Oréal Paris White Perfect Laser whitening treatment series consist of the following 2 products:

White Perfect Laser Anti-Spot Brightening Essence
30ml   RM 79.90
This lightweight essence contains highly concentrated pure ellagic acid from natural plants, an active whitening ingredient which is highly effective in preventing dark spots as well as lightening age spots, pigmentation, dark spots, chicken pox scars and other stubborn problems in the deep layers of our skin.

The serum is a milky white colour that turns transparent once blended out and is absorbed easily into the skin after application of toner. The texture is that of a very lightweight cream, not the watery type of essence. Just a couple of pumps is enough to cover the entire face.

White Perfect Laser Day Cream with SPF19A+++
50ml   RM 59.90
With the White Perfect Laser Day Cream, which comes with SPF19A+++, your skin tone will be more even, radiant, translucent and fairer! It contains Pro-Vanish active whitening technology, as well as Vitamin B, Procystein, and BHA, which helps skin tone become more even and bright. This day cream will help whiten, moisturize and protect your skin, with its SPF19A+++ which protects from harmful UV rays which cause pigmentation.

This cream is a bit more unique because instead of the regular white, it has a slightly pink tinge. The texture is quite rich, but let it set for a couple of minutes after application, and you will find that your skin will be instantly smoother and more moisturized without the greasy/oily feeling on your face. The best thing is, it has SPF19A+++, so there's no need to worry about a bit of morning sunlight on the way to work. ;)

I was unable to attend the product briefing by L'Oreal, but they were kind enough to send me the range of products to review. I've been using them for about a month now, and I'll post a review once I've used them for the full 8 weeks to see if it really does the job of reducing spots and whitening my skin. ;)

Here's a photo of the range of products I've been using in my daily skin care routine for the past month, and for the coming couple of months.

Update: Check out my review of the range after using it for approximately 7 weeks! :D

Till then, you can check out the entire range of L'Oréal Paris White Perfect Laser whitening treatment in all leading pharmacies and departmental stores. You can also keep up with their updates on the following sites:

Hey peeps! If you're an Apple user and are looking to get some new accessories to dress up your Apple gadget, you should definitely check this out! I just got back from the Mac City clearance at 1 Utama's Bargain Corner, and there were some pretty good stuff in the way of iPhone casings, iPad covers, chargers, bags, and other miscellaneous accessories that you might be interested in. :)

Casings for the New iPad at 50% off. Price after discount approximately RM 90 - RM 120.

Lego-like stand + amplifier for Face Time usage. :D (Forgot to get the price for this one, sorry!)

Laptop bags, Macbook covers and iPhone casings

Macbooks and speakers (not sure if all are demo units) on clearance
Oops, blur pic
External battery (RM 89) and colourful charger stands (RM 48)

Some pretty awesome Ted Baker, Roxy and Quicksilver iPhone 4/4S casings (RM 89)

And a whole bunch of iPhone 4/4S casings with a Buy 1 Get 1 Free offer (pay for the higher priced item, if different prices).
Super love these!
The 'melty' ones are cute too!
Everything here! :O

The crowd at 9.30 p.m.! The Buy 1 Free 1 casings are in the several racks to the right of the picture :)

There are seriously quite a lot of casings and covers for Apple products at this clearance sale, from iPods to iPhones, iPads to Macbooks. There were a few other interesting items and accessories too, but I didn't manage to snap pics coz I wasn't sure if it was allowed. Some other interesting items of note were the iPhone telephone handset (RM90), screen protectors (RM25-RM50), assorted colourful charger stands, iPhone 3GS/4/4S casings, iPad covers, stylus pen (RM 39), and battery pack (RM89 and above). Of course, there were also the speakers and laptops which priced cheaper than retail; not sure if they are just the demo units or new ones though.

Here are my buys from the sale - 2 iPhone casings! (Which brings my grand total to 6! lol)

  • Cygnett Chromatic two-tone mirrored case with screen protector (RM 10)
  • KumoKuno Slim Case soft feeling coating in Mint (RM40)
The mirrored one is useful (for obvious reasons HAHAHA) and the mint one is super slim, so it's like not having a casing on my iPhone at all, plus it's mint-coloured! ♥

Review: Lioele Bubi Bubi Mascara in #3 Dancing Blue

♫ G-Dragon - One Of A Kind

Have you been anticipating this particular post after all the teasers and hints on my Facebook page? Well, it's finally here! :D Let me introduce to you, the amazing, the marvelous, the gorgeous...

Yup, this is my new darling in the makeup diaries. Isn't she pretty? ☆彡

I've been keeping an eye out for blue mascara ever since I saw the ones being sold in TopShop, but I refused to give in to temptation because the TopShop coloured mascaras are not waterproof (and I seldom use mascara anyway). Also, high-end brands with coloured mascara like MAC, YSL and Dior were way out of my budget, so I was ecstatic when I popped by the Lioele counter at Parkson Sg Wang and saw the gleaming blue tester tube there. (≧∇≦)

Lioele Bubi Bubi Mascara in #3 Dancing Blue

The packaging of the mascara is pretty straightforward. It's made of black plastic with a shiny black and metallic blue pattern on the body of the mascara tube (1.5cm in diameter). I thought the pattern was printed on at first, but upon closer inspection, it's actually just a sticker. Either way, it is sturdy enough to handle a few bumps, and the overall impression is sleek and shiny. I like it. :D

The mascara shade and ingredients list was just a sticker on the outer plastic packaging. The outer packaging/sticker of the mascara corresponds to the shade of the mascara inside, so you don't have to worry about getting them mixed up.

Well, except for the newest one "Gorgeous Black", which for some reason is a metallic hot pink. *shrugs* I was so excited to see it until the SA told me that it's actually black mascara, not pink or purple

Alright, back to the topic. The mascara comes with a standard mascara wand, with fine bristles tapering to a point at the tip. I generally find these types of mascara brushes to work best with my short, fine eyelashes, giving them a good even coating of mascara with each swipe.

The mascara wand and brush
Here's a swatch of the mascara on white paper. The blue might look a bit daunting at first, but I find that after it is applied to the lashes, it has a similar effect to that on the mascara brush because our darker Asian lashes tone down the colour slightly. Needless to say, it will definitely look brighter on ladies with fair lashes. XD

Blue mascara swatch

One of the most important steps before applying mascara is to first complete your eye makeup and draw your eyeliner (if you plan to draw it). I used a blue eyeliner pencil for this review because I threw out all my dried out black liquid eyeliners. (~_~;) Then, curl your lashes using an eyelash curler. My lashes have lost most of their curl from my eyelash perming session, so I always use the hairdryer to heat up the curler so that the curl will last longer.

After that, it's mascara time! ;)
I'm showing the "before and after" comparison  photos because I feel that it helps to show the difference better than a whole bunch of text. A picture is worth a thousand words, after all. XD

To me, the colour is quite obvious when you look closely, but as my friend pointed out when I tested it at the counter, it looks pretty normal otherwise, like from a distance of more than 3 feet. I mean, you don't just go staring at people's eyelashes just to see what colour they are, right? XD

When freshly applied, the blue is quite obvious, but I find that the colour sort of oxidizes and becomes slightly darker within a few hours. If you feel that it's still too bright, you can always use ONE coat of black mascara over the blue to tone it down a little. :)

If you still aren't convinced about the colour, here's a full-face photo comparison. :D

Before | After (Lioele blue mascara)
Okay, I admit I might have gone a little overboard with the matching blue necklace and t-shirt.

So, to round it up. The packaging of the mascara is nice, and the mascara wand is perfect for application of the product.  The colour is gorgeously, unashamedly blue, exactly what I was looking for in a coloured mascara. The best thing is that it is waterproof, so there's no need to sweat it even if the weather gets hot. *Pun intended* At RM 29.90 a tube for 7g of product, it is extremely affordable and comes in 4 variations (clear, brown, blue and black). The mascara lasted a good 7~8 hours (no, I did not get any weird looks, haha!) without smudging, which is pretty incredible to me.

The downside is, it doesn't really volumize your lashes, and only gives a slight lengthening effect. But then again, if you really wanted dramatic blue eyelashes, you'd have gotten fake ones already, right? XD

The Lieole Bubi Bubi Mascara range retails at RM 29.90, and is available at Lioele counters in selected Parkson outlets in Malaysia and the Lioele Malaysia online store.

✓ Pros: Affordable price, waterproof formula, great colour payoff, sleek packaging, good selection of colours.
✗ Cons: No volumizing and only slight lengthening effect.

(^u^)
(^ï½–^)
Seriously, why hasn't this mascara gotten more reviews and raves on the blogosphere during the coloured mascara craze last year? ( ゚ Д゚) Is it because of the lack of promotion, or is it due to the fact that there aren't many Lieole counters? Either way, THIS COLOURED MASCARA NEEDS MORE LOVE AND RECOGNITION!! *getting all worked up*

Oh, and dear Lioele, if you're reading this, please please please come out with a purple/pink version of the Bubi Bubi Mascara! I will love you forever if you do. :3

Out and About 3

♫Marina & The Diamonds - Primadonna

Yup, I'm guessing it's time for another "Out and About" post! XD Which basically means I'm trying to update about food I've eaten, places I went, things I bought, and stuff I did over the past couple of months in one picture-spam post.

You have been warned. ;)

First time going to Publika with the uni-mates. :D We were all curious of the place, so we finally decided to take a trip there to see what all the hype was about, and also have dinner at The Bee, which was apparently the place to go for food in the area.

Outfit of the day
Got some really cheap Rubi nail polishes at a Cotton On store one weekend in Klang. I could hardly believe my ears when the cashier told me that they were RM2 each! I also managed to score a pair of gold flats there too, for RM5! They were originally marked as RM10 (which I thought was pretty awesome already), but it seems that they mistagged some of the items.
RM2 each! *insert OMG face here*
Gold flats for RM5! They look kinda weird on my feet, but I just use them to rest my feet when at work, so... meh.
Oh, since we're on the topic of work, I started my internship in late June. Getting from home to my workplace near KLCC takes about 1.5 hours to and fro, so the one thing I learnt quickly was that... comfortable shoes are a must for daily commutes! I have been doomed to horrendous flats since late June. Oh, the horror!
Huge magazine covers on standees. Yup.
My desk. I've moved to another one, but you get the idea.
Love the view out the window. :)
Did I mention that stuck trains are a common occurrence during after work peak hour? Yes, they are. I have come to develop several pet peeves about people on public transport, namely overly-strong perfume and annoyingly huge bags that poke people. *rolls eyes*
The LRT is stuck - again.
At least I have some winnings to console me. I won 2 boxes of ADORE Dare contact lenses from a Facebook giveaway. I chose grey and purple. :)

Didn't really plan to buy anything at the recent PC Fair (I didn't even think of going), but my brother wanted to so I tagged along. Couldn't resist getting this 4GB thumb drive because it was only RM10, and I liked the shiny holographic design. And no, I am not a Dream Girls fan. I have no idea who they are at all.
4GB for RM10; not bad eh? ;)
Before heading for the PC Fair, we decided to use the Tong Pak Fu vouchers I won from a blog giveaway. :D I really liked the chocolate lava cake! Unfortunately, I'm not a big fan of durian shaved ice, and the peanut cream was kinda bland.

Oh, I also managed to relive a little of my RO memories with this cute little game for iOS. :D The background music was so nostalgic, I nearly cried wtf. You can download it for free from the Apple AppStore by searching for "Ragnarok Violet".

Of course, when it comes to my first internship paycheck, I had to treat my parents to some nice food. I was feeling hungry when walking around 1 Utama with them one day, so we decided on Dragon-i, because it had been quite a while since we'd dined there. I really missed their la mian and xiao long bao too.

Most epic movie of the year so far - The Dark Knight Rises. I mean, how could anybody prefer The Amazing Spiderman over this?!
(P/S: I'm saving the title of "Most Epic Movie of 2012" for The Hobbit.)

I love to hang out in Kinokuniya after work, especially on Fridays. Anyway, I was having dinner at their cafe upstairs for the second day in a row, and I found this shelf full of what looked like books - except that they weren't. They're actually notebooks (blank and lined) that look like Penguin books. It's probably one of my favourite shelves in the entire store now. :D
The notebook shelf :)
Last but not least, but definitely the most recent - an outing a shopping trip with two of the most awesome people I've known since high school. We went to queue up for the opening of Brands Outlet at Fahrenheit88 because they were giving away RM50 vouchers to the first 500 visitors. My excuse is that I've been dying to meet my friends (especially WH who just came back from UK) and that I need new shorts.
The three musketeers! :P
I only paid RM 9.80 in total! MWAHAHAHAHA
Yep, the shorts were RM29.90 each, but with the RM50 cash voucher, I only paid RM 9.80 in total. Super love the bright colours! <3

We'd been lining up since 9.30 a.m., and it was about 12.30 p.m. when we got out of Brands Outlet (lining up for the cashier took at least 45mins OMG) and needless to say, we were starving! So we decided to go upstairs to have Sushi Zanmai for lunch. Thankfully, there wasn't a line yet when we got there.
FOOD. Glorious food at Sushi Zanmai.
So yeah, that's about it. Hope you liked the massive pic-spam! :P
