South Korea Skincare & Makeup Haul (Plus Shopping Tips!)

♫ Taylor Swift - ...Ready For It?

Any skincare and beauty junkie who is going to South Korea will tell you this: make sure you bring a HUGE luggage bag so that you have enough space to haul back plenty of loot! For my first ever trip to South Korea this September, I brought along my largest suitcase (26") which was barely enough to fit all my things - and that's considering I didn't buy half as much as I thought I would!

That said, I think I still managed to lug back a substantial amount of skincare and makeup stuff. So, are you ready for my South Korea shopping haul? It's going to be a rather long one, so brace yourselves...

(Warning: Lots of photos ahead!)

Review: KLAVUU Urban Pearlsation Shimmer Eyeshadow in Rose Gold

♫ MXM (BRANDNEW BOYS) - Good Day

I'll let you know if I ever get around to actually blogging about my Korea trip, but in the meantime, I just have to share with you this skincare and cosmetics brand that I discovered there.

This is an eyeshadow single from South Korean brand KLAVUU, and is part of their Urban Pearlsation Shimmer Eyeshadow makeup range. The shade I have here is Rose Gold, and it is absolutely beautiful. 😍 The two other eyeshadow ranges are Glitter and Matte.

Review: Bioré Bare Skin Cleansing Water (素肌つるるんクレンジングウォーター)

♫ Ed Sheeran - Perfect

I seriously need somebody to kick me once in a while and remind me to update my blog. 😅 Anyway, this was bought during my trip to Tokyo last year, and I just started using it several months ago. There's no English name for it, but this 素肌つるるんクレンジングウォーター from Bioré roughly translates into Bare Skin Cleansing Water.

Review: Mistine Maxi Black Liquid Eyeliner

♫ Bruno Mars -That's What I Like

You know what I like? Eyeliner. Liquid eyeliner.

After years of swearing by Japanese eyeliners, I think I might have found their match - at a much more affordable price point to boot.

D.I.Y. - Panasonic LX5 Camera Rubber Grip Replacement

♫ Macklemore - Glorious (ft. Skylar Grey)

My trusty Panasonic Lumix LX5 has been with me for about 7 years now, and as you can imagine, it's been through a lot. It's a battle-scarred warrior that has seen its fair share of vacation scenery (although these days I rely a lot more on my phone to take photos when travelling), events, selfies, and product shots. Understandably, wear and tear happens, especially on the softer parts.

Review: 3CE Pot Lip in #RED and #CORAL

♫ SEKAI NO OWARI - 花鳥風月

I've always been a sucker for roses, so even though I'm not a huge fan of potted lip balms, this 3CE Pot Lip range was calling out to me ever since it was released.

Luckily for me, I managed to catch 3CE's worldwide free shipping event about a month ago, and these (tiny) babies arrived from Korea within a week. (EMS shipping is awesome, you guys.)

Pokémon x Its' Demo Cosmetics Haul

清水翔太 (Shota Shimizu) - Love

As a huge fan of Pokémon back in the 90's and 00's, I watched the animations, played the game (on an emulator), and collected a bunch of merch. So imagine my excitement when I got wind of the new Pokémon x Its' Demo collection, which not only includes cosmetics but also stationery and household items. Long story short, when the collection launched online in May, I quickly placed an order through a Japan-based shopping service to get several items, which promptly arrived at my doorstep two weeks later.

I know you're here to take a peep at what I snagged from the collection, so let's cut straight to the chase. These are the items in my Pokémon 💓 Its' Demo haul:

Welcome to LauraLeia.com!

Whoa.

I finally got my own domain!

My inner voice is rolling its eyes and saying "About time."

Anyway, it's finally done, and I'm proud to announce that www.lauraleia.com is now up and running!

What took me so long to get a .com?
Procrastination. I probably should've gotten it back when I was still actively blogging and attending events, but at that time I simply didn't see the need to put money into getting a domain, and didn't have the resources to do so.

Why lauraleia.com?
Well, at this point, it's pretty obvious to me. Creating a brand name is important, and like it or not, the name LauraLeia has stuck with me for a pretty long time now. Might as well make good use of it. ;)

Why now?
To be honest, I decided to get this domain mainly because...
  • of kiasu-ism - what if somebody took my domain name?!
  • I wanted to revive my blogging activities and share my interests with others
  • it would help me discover another technical aspect of blogging and websites (blogging taught me basic HTML skills, haha)
  • it's the next step to building my own personal writing portfolio

I know it's pretty basic and all, but to me, it's enough (for now). Thanks for sticking around even through the long hiatus, and I hope you'll enjoy the posts to come.
