Review: Barrel Style Contact Lens Washer

♫  Sam Smith - I'm Not The Only One

As a frequent contact lens wearer, I have to take extra care of my contact lens, as they are mostly monthly or tri-monthly lenses. (I admit, I sometimes use them up to 6 months if I seldom wear them or they don't hurt my eyes even after the stipulated duration. ⌒_⌒;) Therefore, regularly cleaning them is a vital part of eye care.

LoveShoppingholics very kindly sent me this nifty little gadget, a barrel style contact lens washer, to help me take care of my lenses, which they have generously provided for review many times. (✿>◡<✿)

The barrel style contact lens washer is quite small and fits comfortably in the palm of my hand. It consists of a clear plastic 'body', and a dual-layer screw cap. I say dual-layer because the top part can be rotated when you're washing your lenses, and the lower part screws on tightly to the plastic body and serves as a cover to prevent the lens solution from spilling out.

It opens up like in the photo above, with 2 compartments that flip up to hold each of your lens. I can describe it all day, but I think that in this case, pictures speak louder than words, haha!

Prepare your items: contact lens to be washed, contact lens solution, contact lens washer, and a cloth or tissue to wipe up any spills.

Open up the case cover and place your lenses inside.

Close the lid and cover, fold them together to prepare for washing.

Fill the plastic container with contact lens solution. About half or 3/4 full should be enough.

Close the cover firmly, and proceed to rotate the upper part of the cap for several seconds to wash your lens.

Here's a video to show you how to use it to clean your lenses after placing them in the washer.

Easy, right? (✿◠‿◠)
Besides using it to wash your lenses, you can also use it to store them! This is especially useful if you're going traveling and plan to bring along your monthly lenses instead of using daily lenses.

Priced at $3.99 (get them here), I would say it's a really affordable and useful tool in your eye care routine. It's simple to use, and doubles as both a lens case and washer. Definitely a win-win solution! (≧∇≦)

It's actually a good idea! I always drop contact lens whenever I tried to wash them. It'd definitely be easier this way
